While most people focus on ‘doing’ more to achieve more, ultra successful entrepreneurs have a morning ritual that sets them up for success. Their morning ritual is about focusing on ‘becoming’ more so that you can start doing less, to achieve more.
Most of them nurture their body in the morning with water, a healthy breakfast and light exercise. They nurtured their mind with meditation or prayer, inspirational reading, and journaling.

Let me share a powerful template that I have been using with incredible results. I would say this one productivity hack was the biggest game changer for me. I start the day with a couple of glasses of warm water to hydrate myself.

The Hour of Power

  1. 20 minutes of energizing exercise – I do an unusual exercise that gives me both a physical and also a mental workout. Not to mention that the exercise also gets your ‘happy hormones’ like endorphins and dopamine activated. I use a rebounder or mini trampoline. There are 3 brilliant benefits of bouncing on a trampoline:

    (a) A great cardio workout with minimal stress on my joints. I suggest that you wear a heart rate monitor to monitor your progress too. The one I love is the Fitbit.

    (b) While I’m bouncing I also chant some positive incantations. These are positive affirmations said in a rhythm. To keep balance on the trampoline we have to use both our right brain and left brain. This fact combined with the incantations helps integrate the positive affirmations easily into our unconscious mind. This helps me install a bulletproof mindset for success.

    (c) The bouncing also activates the lymph nodes in the heels of the feet. The lymphatic system is the metabolic garbage can of the body. It rids you of toxins such as dead and cancerous cells, nitrogenous wastes, infectious viruses, heavy metals, and other assorted junk cast off by the cells. The movement performed in rebounding provides the stimulus for a free-flowing system that drains away these potential poisons.

Unlike the arterial system, the lymphatic system does not have its own pump. It has no heart muscle to move the fluid around through its lymph vessels. Rebounding helps pump the lymphatic system and cleanse you.Every other day I will start with 10 minutes of rebounding & incantations followed by a high intensity Tabata workout which only takes 4 minutes and 20 seconds with incredible results.

  2. 20 minutes of meditation – I love the 6 phase meditation by Vishen Lakhiani, founder of Mindvalley.|This is a guided meditation that helps you with the 6 steps:(a) Connection with your higher self.
    (b) Cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Review 5-10 things that you are grateful for in the last 24-48 hours.
    (c) Freedom from negative charges. A simple forgiveness exercise.
    (d) Create visualization about your compelling future.
    (e) Intention setting for the day.
    (f) Blessing

This meditation leaves me energized, excited and grounded.

  1. 20 minutes for a great nutritious breakfast – After my meditation I have a protein shake with some omega oil supplements. I have a shower followed by a nutritious breakfast of say muesli with berries, or some Poha or whole wheat khakhra with fresh juice. Fuel yourself up for success. I found that adding a protein shake really made a difference to me. Updating this in my Fitbit app really helped me understand that I was undernourished and I could actually increase my calorie intake.

With this powerful morning ritual you will be ready and set for a great day ahead! Do you have a morning ritual? Share that with me.
